For Service life when the dates do not move.

Catterick work is rarely neat. Posting dates move, removals run late, inspections loom, and the house still needs handing back properly.

Families posting out

The classic march-out clean: removals done, keys nearly due back, inspection booked and nobody has the energy to scrub oven glass at midnight. We clean with the handback in mind.

Short-notice postings

Military life is not famous for gentle admin. If dates change suddenly, call Nikki. We cannot promise miracles, but we will be straight about what can be moved and what cannot.

Service families staying put

Not every Catterick clean is a march-out. Plenty of families just need weekly or fortnightly domestic help around shifts, kids, deployments and the normal pile-up of life.

Private renters around DL9

Colburn, Hipswell, Scotton and nearby private rentals still need proper end-of-tenancy cleaning, even when they are not SFA. Landlord standard, not a quick once-over.

Move-in resets

Sometimes the first job is not moving out. It is making a new place feel clean enough to bring your boxes, children and life into it. Kitchens, bathrooms and cupboards first.

Who it is not for

We do not do hazardous cleans, hoarding clearances, garden waste, removals, decorating, repairs, or post-build rubble work. Cleaning, yes. Magic wand, sadly not issued.

Built for Service families.

Whether you're posting out, settling in, or just need a regular weekly clean while you're juggling Service life, we've got it covered.

A march-out clean needs order.

The job is easier when it is planned. Not easy. Easier. There is a difference.

1

You send the basics

Property type, date, inspection time, rooms, condition, carpets, oven, access and whether removals will be fully finished. Photos help. Honest photos help more.

2

Nikki quotes the actual job

No fixed-price guessing. A tidy two-bed SFA and a four-bed house after three children, two dogs and a posting week are not the same clean. We price the work in front of us.

3

We clean room by room

Kitchen and bathrooms get the heavy work. Then woodwork, switches, sockets, windows, floors, fixtures, vents, cupboards and the bits inspectors always seem to find.

4

We do the final pass

Before we leave, we walk it like an inspector would: eye level, low level, corners, glass, taps, oven, skirtings, behind doors. If photos are needed, we send them.

We know the standard.

Catterick Garrison is the largest British Army garrison in the world, home to several thousand Service personnel and their families across DL9. Postings change. Married quarters turn over. And every time someone moves on, there's a march-out clean waiting between them and the deposit-return inspection.

We've cleaned SFA and married quarters across Catterick Garrison, Colburn, Hipswell and Scotton for years. We know the rooms, we know what the inspectors look for, and we know how to get the pass first time. That's what saves you the deductions, and the stress on what's already a busy week.

We also do regular domestic cleaning for Service families who simply want a reliable hand around the house. Weekly, fortnightly, or one-off, whatever fits.

March-out myths that cost money.

"It is just like an end-of-tenancy clean."

Close, but not quite. A march-out is tied to a military handback and inspection process. The clean has to follow the checklist and the timing, not just look good for a landlord.

"The oven can wait until the end."

No. The oven is usually one of the first things we start because it can need dwell time, scraping, glass work and a second check. Leaving it late is how people end up angry at 10pm.

"If it looks clean, it will pass."

Inspection clean means low-level, high-level and behind-things clean. Skirtings, door frames, sockets, extractor fans, sills, cupboard tops and bathroom edges all matter.

"Short notice means impossible."

Not always. It depends on the route, property size and inspection date. Ring first. We will tell you honestly whether we can fit it in.

March-out cleaning FAQ.

A march out clean is the final clean a service family carries out before handing back SFA or married quarters. The MoD inspect against a published checklist, and any failures can be deducted from your pay. A proper march-out clean is designed to pass on the first inspection so there's nothing to come back to you afterwards.
Yes. We work through the MoD Pre Move Out checklist room by room: kitchen appliances inside and out, bathroom tiles and grout, skirtings, light fittings, the lot. The goal is a first-time pass so you don't get hit with deductions.
Every march-out is priced per job after a quick look at the property, usually based on photos or a short site visit. SFAs of similar size and condition tend to land in a predictable range, but we never charge for a clean we haven't seen first.
We try to fit short-notice bookings around postings, usually a few days is enough, sometimes the same week. Posting families with sudden dates: just call Nikki on 07591 175 752 and we'll see what we can move.
Yes. Plenty of our regulars are service families on weekly or fortnightly domestic cleans, separate from any march-out work. Same Nikki, same small team, same number.
Yes. True Grit Cleaning Company Ltd is a UK limited company (Companies House no. 16822125), with the registered office at 19 Norman Road, Richmond, DL10 4PA. Owner-operated by Nikki.
No cleaner can control every inspection decision, existing damage or maintenance issue. What we can say is this: if something the inspector flags is genuinely down to our clean, we come back and put it right.
Not usually. As long as access is clear and removals are finished, we can work from key instructions. For march-outs, it helps if you are reachable by phone in case we spot something that needs a quick decision.
Sometimes. It depends when removals finish, the size of the property and the inspection time. Same-day jobs need clear timing. If boxes are still coming out while we are trying to clean, it slows everything down.
Yes. Catterick Garrison, Colburn, Hipswell, Scotton and the surrounding DL9 villages are all on the regular route.
