Hi, I'mNikki.
I'm a Richmond mum, founder and hands-on owner of True Grit Cleaning Co. I built this business for people who want a cleaner they can trust: kind in your home, thoughtful with the details, clear with communication and serious about doing the job properly.
Why True Grit exists.
I'd been cleaning for years before True Grit existed as a limited company: holiday lets in the Dales, family homes around Richmond and Darlington, and march-out cleans around Catterick. Hundreds of cleans, week in and week out. Again and again, people told me the same thing: they wanted someone reliable, careful and easy to talk to. Someone who would treat their home, cottage or quarter with respect.
So in October 2025 I incorporated True Grit Cleaning Company Ltd (company number 16822125) and made it official: same hands, same standards, same people on the rounds, just a proper company name above the door. I'm a mum as well as a business owner, and that shapes how I run the company: organised, practical, thoughtful, and very aware that people are trusting us with the places they live, work and welcome guests.
The promise is simple. The person quoting you is the person who understands the job, your property and your schedule. I work with a small, trusted team for busy weeks, but every clean is either done by me or directly supervised by me. No call centres. No franchise hand-offs. Just clear communication and a properly done job.
We're based in Richmond (DL10), and we cover Richmond, Darlington, Catterick Garrison, Northallerton, Leyburn, Reeth, Hawes, Barnard Castle and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales villages where the round can reasonably reach.
Kind, thoughtful cleaning with proper standards.

What owner-run actually means here.
Owner-run is not a badge for the website. It changes how the work feels. When you ask for a quote, Nikki is the person reading the message. When a holiday let needs a tighter changeover, she is the one checking whether the round can take it. When a march-out clean needs doing properly, she is the one thinking through the inspection list, not passing it to whoever happens to be free.
It also means saying no when the job would be rushed, badly timed or not right for us. We do not do industrial post-construction cleans, hazmat work, biohazard cleaning or tiny one-room callouts that cost more in travel than they do in cleaning. Better to be straight at the start than disappoint you later. Yorkshire manners, but with a backbone.
The work that suits True Grit best is practical and repeatable: weekly domestic cleaning, holiday-let changeovers, deep cleans, end-of-tenancy resets, commercial cleaning for small businesses, and march-out cleans for service families around Catterick. The common thread is trust. You need to know who is coming, what they are doing, and how to reach them if something changes. That is the whole point of keeping the company small enough to care, and local enough to know the round.
