The clean that resets everything.
One-off deep cleans across Richmond, Darlington and the Yorkshire Dales. Inside the oven, behind every appliance, into the grout. The clean you book when a place needs to feel brand-new: for moving in, spring, post-renovation, or just because.
Six moments a home needs a full reset.
A deep clean is a one-off. Most people book it before or after a specific life moment, not on a schedule.
Moving In
Empty property, no furniture in the way, every surface reachable. The single best time to deep-clean a home before you fill it with your life. Especially worth it on previously-owned homes. You get the place the way the photos sold it to you.
Spring Reset
The annual top-to-bottom that catches up on a winter's worth of build-up. Windows opened wide, every track and channel cleaned, every cobweb taken. The house feels lighter for weeks after.
After Renovation
Plaster dust, paint flecks, sawdust. It gets everywhere. Inside cupboards the builders never opened. On top of the wardrobes. In the fan grilles. We do the multi-pass post-construction clean that gets it all out.
Before Selling
The clean that makes the estate-agent photos jump off the screen. Kitchens shine, bathrooms gleam, windows let the light in. Buyers walk in to a place that feels cared-for from the front door.
After a Big Event
Wedding, christening, milestone birthday, Christmas with twenty people. The clean that puts the house back together after a brilliant chaotic weekend.
"It Just Needs Doing"
Sometimes there isn't a milestone. The grout has gone grey, the oven is past saving, the windows haven't opened all winter. Book a deep clean and start again.
Reset clean. Done by the owner.
A deep clean is a full day's work. Done right, it transforms a place. Done badly, it's expensive disappointment. The difference is who's doing it.
There's a particular satisfaction in a properly-done deep clean. The grout corners are bright again. The oven door glass is transparent for the first time in two years. The window tracks are dust-free. The cobwebs that gathered above the curtain rail through winter are gone. The kitchen smells of nothing except clean.
A deep clean isn't just a long regular clean. It's a different job: different products, different order of work, different mindset. You start at the ceiling and finish on the floor. You move every piece of furniture that can be moved. You open every cupboard. You clean things that haven't been cleaned in months.
True Grit Cleaning Co is run by Nikki personally, working out of Richmond, North Yorkshire. She does or directly supervises every deep clean we book. No franchise teams rotating through. No call centre. No "the cleaner who's available this week." Same person who quoted the job is the person at your door, kettle on, working through the rooms.
The pace is unhurried. A proper deep clean of a family home is a full day, sometimes spread across two, and it shouldn't be rushed. Cheap quick deep cleans aren't deep cleans, they're a regular clean called something fancier. Pay for the time, get the actual reset.
Top to bottom. Every surface a home has.
The detail of a proper deep clean. We tailor to the property. Bigger homes need more time, post-renovation needs additional passes.

Arrive at 8. Leave when it's done.
1. The walkaround
First 15 minutes. We walk every room, note the priorities, agree what's in scope. If you're moving in to an empty property we just crack on. If you're still living there we agree which rooms come first so you can stay out of our way.
2. Top down
We start high. Cobwebs, ceiling roses, light fittings, picture rails. Work down to dado, skirting, floors. Doing it in the right order means dust falls onto surfaces we haven't cleaned yet, not surfaces we already have.
3. Wet rooms get time
Kitchens and bathrooms take the longest. Oven cleaner needs dwell time. Descaler needs to sit on tile. We layer the chemistry so it's working while we're elsewhere, then come back and finish.
4. Floors last
Floors get done in the final pass. Vacuum, mop, dry. No walking on wet floors as the last thing you remember about your deep clean.
5. Walk-through with you
If you're home, we walk the property with you at the end. Anything you'd like a second look at, we sort before we leave. If you're not home, you get a photo-set on completion.
Builders' dust is its own thing.
If you've just had work done, this section is for you.
Post-renovation cleans aren't deep cleans with extra hours bolted on. They're a different job. Construction dust, particularly plaster powder and sawdust, has a static charge and a way of settling onto surfaces nowhere near the work. Loft conversion done last month? There'll be dust on top of the kitchen wardrobes. Bathroom re-tiled? There'll be grit in the bedroom window track.
We do post-construction cleans in two passes. The first pass moves the bulk of the dust off horizontal surfaces and out of the property. The second pass, usually the next day or after a 24-hour settling period, picks up everything that the first pass disturbed and re-settled.
For full-house renovations or new-build snagging cleans, we quote based on square-footage and the level of finish required. Call us before the work starts if you can. Booking ahead means we're ready as soon as the builders are out.

What people ask before booking.
Every deep clean is quoted individually because condition matters more than bedroom count. Nikki prices the job after a short conversation, photos or a visit, covering size, access, appliances, limescale, carpets, timescale and the level of reset needed.
Most family homes take a full day, 5 to 8 hours for a thorough top-to-bottom. Bigger jobs spread across two days. Post-renovation cleans take longer because of construction dust, which gets everywhere and needs multiple passes.
Most people book before a key moment: moving in, putting a place on the market, after a renovation, before an annual gathering, or for the traditional spring reset. Two weeks notice is enough, more if you want a specific date.
A regular clean keeps a tidy home tidy. A deep clean resets a home to a from-scratch state: inside the oven, behind appliances, inside cupboards, ceiling cobwebs, light fittings, the corners and crevices that build up over months. Once a deep clean is done, regular cleans keep it that way.
Yes. Building dust, plaster powder, paint flecks and sawdust find every surface, including ones the builders never touched. We do a multi-pass post-renovation clean covering wipe-down of every wall, ceiling line, skirting, window track, plus a full surface and floor reset.
Yes, move-in deep cleans are one of our regular bookings. Empty property, no furniture in the way, every surface accessible. The ideal time to deep-clean a home before you fill it with your life. Especially useful when buying a previously-owned property.
Carpet cleaning is available as an add-on with hot-water extraction. For deep cleans we often recommend carpets be done as part of the package since the rest of the property is being reset around them.
Yes. Pre-sale deep cleans help estate-agent photos pop and viewings go well. We focus on the bright-shine details (kitchens, bathrooms, windows, light fittings) that make a property feel cared-for from the moment a buyer walks in.
